SCC 2 Pre-Class Challenge 2

And my excitement for this card camp continues to build with a second pre-class challenge - this one based on a sketch. Here is what I came up with.

After seeing the sketch which had three circles of various sizes in a triangular pattern offset to the left side of the card, I knew instantly that I wanted to incorporate stars onto my card. I went with different types of stars, with different techniques and patterns - using stamping and inca gold.

I took a little longer than I would have liked getting going on this card. I got hung up a bit on colouring as I started working with a white card base similar to my first challenge card. Once I switched over to the black cardstock base though I was off to the races. Same thing happened with my stamped star as well. Originally I stamped a star with gold ink on white cardstock and fussy cut this to go along with my two other chipboard stars, but wasn't completely happy with the overall look. When I switched this to a black cardstock star with the gold ink stamped image, I found I liked this much better. The final detail I added was the faux stitching around the gold glitter paper. I liked how this made the gold block stand out that much more and also tied in the black used in other parts of the card. It also tied back to the sketch which identified a block on the card front with a dotted outline. I used some scraps for the gold glitter paper and unfortunately a seam from two scraps is quite noticeable on the card front - something I would fix for the future.
